It seems there is a never-ending list of scams on Facebook geared towards older folks. Just last week I had a lady in the shop asking me about a product that she was sure was real because “Oprah was talking about it on Facebook.”

It’s hard to convince older people of things that are scams thanks to AI. It wasn’t Oprah - but it looked and sounded just like her.

My customer had been scammed by a company using AI to impersonate a trusted public figure. And it hasn’t been the first time I’ve heard of this. Just recently another customer told me he ordered a fake product from seeing an ad on Facebook with Willie Nelson and Tome Selleck selling a supplement for men. Of course, these were also AI fakes.
